Bow Master
STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BOW-MASTEREach Bow Master is sold with this same instructions - printed in full colour.
The Bow Master has 4 sides, each side has 2 "settings" that gives you 2 different bow sizes per side - a total of 8 different sized bows!
Use a soft ribbon (not too wide or too narrow) when practicing your first bow. Once you've got the hang of it, you may use ribbon of any width.
1.
Start by choosing the size of your bow. The width of the leg your using will give you the bow size. In this sample I've chosen the leg that is 32mm wide. Now you're going to measure the length of the ribbon that you will be using. All you do is measure 6 lengths of the width of your leg.
2.
After measuring your 6 lengths, cut the ribbon. It helps if you cut your ribbon end at a sharp angle to form a point.
3.
Hold your Bow Master in your left hand. Place the ribbon across the legs as shown. The short tail of the ribbon is to the left of my left thumb. The remaining ribbon is to the right.
4.
With the length of your ribbon in your right hand, wrap the ribbon around the 2 legs, come up and across as shown.
5.
Take the end of the ribbon tail and run it through the opening between the legs. Do this by going above the ribbon that you've first placed down, then go through the hole to the bottom.
6.
Once you've pull the ribbon through the "hole", you can pull it down from behind as shown, but don't pull it too tight (allow a bit of slack) to be able to insert the ribbon end through as explained in the next step.
7.
Taking your pointed end again in your right hand, draw it up and pass it under the loop created in the previous photo. During this entire process your left thumb continues to hold the short, left ribbon tail in place. This is probably the most critical step - if you don't run this properly through in the correct way, it just won't work, so try again!
8.
Now pull the ribbon tail in your right hand to tighten it up as you begin to form your knot. Keeping your left hand on the same little tail it's been on from the beginning and keeping the tail you've been working with in your right hand, pull the ends up and tight as it forms the knot. You will be pulling up and away from you. You may then put your Bow Master down and then use your one finger to keep the know secure and tighten it more with your right hand. You are now seeing the back of the bow.
9.
Trim the tails of your bow.
10.
Slide your bow of the legs of the Bow Master.
11.
Now you have a perfectly created bow! |
